📌 1. Product Overview

The YUEDU YP400ES1 is a single-motor dual-shaft shredder designed for the physical destruction and volume reduction of hard drives and other suitable data-storage media.

The machine combines a 7.5kW four-pole motor with a K107 gearbox to drive the dual-shaft cutting system. It incorporates 22 multi-tooth rotating cutters and 22 fixed knives to damage hard-drive structures through low-speed, high-torque shearing, compression and tearing.

The YP400ES1 is equipped with a digital PLC control system and an automatic overload-reversing function. When an overload or material jam occurs, the system can reverse the cutter shafts to help release the material and protect the drive and cutting components.

📌 4. Cutter and Shaft Structure

The YP400ES1 uses a dual-shaft cutting system incorporating 22 multi-tooth rotating cutters measuring 200×20mm.

The rotating cutters are manufactured from 75Cr1 and hardened for shearing, compressing and tearing hard-drive enclosures and internal components. The machine also incorporates 22 fixed knives manufactured from heat-treated 45# steel.

The two main shafts are manufactured from heat-treated 42CrMo, while the spacers are manufactured from heat-treated 40Cr. This configuration supports the torque and impact loads generated during hard-drive destruction.

Actual cutter life depends on drive construction, feeding volume, contaminants, cutter clearance and routine maintenance.
